Girls aged: 5 – 14
Squads are set up according to age, no experience or skills required for any age.
**Please mark your calendars with the following VERY important dates**
- Sunday July 7th from 3:00pm-5:00pm and Sunday July 14th from 2:00pm-4:00pm: Fitting night. Held in the, this is a chance to try on and be fitted for the CHSA Cheer uniform and be sized for all items needed for the year (practice shirt, shorts, warmup jacket). It is MANDATORY that all athletes stop by the fitting.
- Choreography Day- August 10th at Fame
Pre-season practice for all squads begins in late July learning cheers and stunting technique. The season (sideline and competition) extends through the end of October/beginning of November. All squads will cheer on the sidelines of their respective team’s football game and perform at halftime. Athletes will have the opportunity to compete in several cheer competitions in addition to cheering at football games and performing at halftime. All information will be presented at the parent meeting at the beginning of the season.
Each squad will have practice time in the bus loop at Grange Hall Elementary School from 6-8 pm Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday until school begins then practice will go to Tuesday and Thursday only through the end of September outdoors. Practice is from 6:00 – 7:30 once school starts. Starting in October we move to closed practices indoors to the Grange Hall Elementary School gym. Parents are not permitted in the gym during this time, this is not a CHSA rule this is a county rule. Additional practice times may be required for competition squads.
Weeknight dates will be selected by mid-June.
Cheerleaders may be asked to participate in fundraising events
Post Season Play:
Both conference winners and the six (6) teams with the next best records enter the playoffs in each division, Northern and Southern. The playoffs are single elimination and culminate with the “Superbowl” on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. There is no post season play in the Flag league. Cheerleading squads normally continue cheering as long as their associated team continues in the playoffs.
If one of our teams make it to the Super Bowl, we do encourage our cheerleader and parents from all squads to come and show support and help cheer each team on.
Games begin the weekend after Labor Day (the Saturday after school begins). Games are played on Saturday mornings or afternoons. The Chesterfield Quarterback League sets the schedule and CHSA has no control over when it is published, or any changes due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
Homecoming is sometime in October the date will be selected once CQL releases the schedule.
End of the Year Party:
After everything is done, we will have an end of the season party. Team Managers and Directors will plan with the coaches input.

Costs are as followed:
Sideline Cheer & Competition – $135
* Copy of Child’s Birth Certificate Must be turned in during registration.
The cost of uniforms is NOT included in the registration fee.
We offer uniform rental for approximately $75-$150 depending on the items that you want. The difference is that the warm up suits are optional.
We also offer a personalized cheer bag that can be purchased, but not rented. Due to sanitary reasons, undershorts and bows are required to be purchased.
We also offer full uniform package purchase for approximately $325.
*Refunds may be requested up to one week after season begins meaning one week from the first practice. If approved, refunds will be assessed at a minimum of a 50% fee and must be approved by the CHSA Board of Directors.
